OUR DIAMOND ALTERNATIVES

LAB CREATED DIAMONDS

We are absolutely crazy about lab created diamonds. We have come to a point where scientists can create diamonds in the lab that are virtually indistinguishable from mined diamonds - and they are guaranteed conflict free.

It's not cubic zirconia

Everyone's familiar with cubic zirconia, which is known to imitate the look of a diamond but does not have the chemical makeup of one. Gems that mimic the look of diamonds are classified as diamond simulant. Others that go under the simulant category include moissanite, quartz, and glass.

You won't be able to tell the difference between a lab-grown diamond and a mined diamond

We source our lab diamonds and gems from the best lab in the country.  You will find find that the gems are essentially the same as mined diamonds. The gems have the same physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds. The proper names for these diamonds are laboratory-created, lab-grown, or man-made diamonds.

Why choose lab grown diamonds?

Firstly, they are 25-23% cheaper than mined diamonds - so that's a brilliant reason to begin with, but moreover, you can be 100% sure that the stones are ethically and sustainably made - which will make you love your jewelry even more. This is our number one reason for supporting these amazing stones.

MOISSANITE

Another amazing ethical and sustainable stone for you to love for years to come.

What is the difference between Moissanite and a diamond or laboratory diamond?

Moissanite is NOT a diamond. Yet they get confused so often because they are practically indistinguishable by the naked eye. In fact, even under a microscope they are rarely different. A gemologist has to have a special tool to determine if a stone is a diamond or moissanite.

Natural moissanite is incredibly rare, so moissanite available today is laboratory-created. After many years of trial and error, Moissanite were successfully synthesized to produce what is now one of the world’s most scintillating gemstones.

Will my moissanite look "fake"?

The simple answer is no. We are authorised retailers of Charles & Covard, who pioneered this stone for fine jewelry for those who wanted an alternative to mined diamonds. We use their Forever One stones, which are classified as D/E colourless. As a matter of fact, the television show, 20/20 did an investigation where they took a moissanite ring to 10 different jewelers. Half of them declared it was a real diamond. Even their diamond detectors tested positive!

Why choose moissanite?

So let's start with the price. The price of the stones are about 1/6 that of a mined, natural diamond (less than $500 per carat). They actually have more fire and brilliance than a natural diamond when seen by the human eye. You can go crazy and have us create your "dream ring" or special occasion piece in a way that is no less amazing, but much less expensive.  Lastly, you can sleep easy knowing your jewelry is conflict free. We love the most.

CUBIC ZIRCONIA (DIAMOND SIMULANTS)

Don't be fooled - not all Cubic Zirconia are equal!

It’s a common misconception that all CZ Stones are the same. Just like Diamonds, there are a number of quality levels, and there is a range of Price Points for these beautiful look-alikes.

What Are Cubic Zirconia Grades?

Cubic Zirconia stones are rated from A to AAAAA. A is the Lowest Quality, while AAAAA is the Highest Grade available. There’s a difference in the look and the price between the Lowest and Highest Grade, and there’s a market for them all.

What type of stones do you use in your fashion jewelry?

Our stones are the top of the line. They are crafted by the best stone cutters and are polished just like any top rated Diamond would be. These stones are remarkably similar in appearance to diamonds and set in the same type of mountings as their diamond counterparts, it would be difficult to tell them apart. These pieces are high quality, yet affordable, choices for a shopper looking for a stunning piece without the stunning price tag.

A Cubic Zirconia may not be the answer for an engagement ring or for investment buying, but they are definitely fun to wear. We love them for fashion pieces, travel jewels and seasonal trend jewelry.  Understanding the facts about CZs and how they differ will make you a more knowledgeable and successful shopper when looking for simulants.
